ParticipantGood morning all,
Wondering if there is a conclusive way of testing for an unusual fill fault on the above dishwasher?
Essentially, on a new cycle it drains as expected, and then pauses, but doesn’t fill, and the brush light flashes.
I replaced the reed switch, and ran another cycle with the same result. However, I perservered and after about 5 or 6 minutes and some attempt water eventually was drawn, and a cycle was completed satisfactorily, although a subsequent programme repeated the fault.
The air break/matrix “looks clear” although I wonder if I should try and clean this, or look in another area/s, such as the aqua stop/fill valve or power module when I return?
I would be grateful for some advice with this problem.

Moderatoryou need to check if the valve is getting power. cant be the matrix as its not allowing water in and any blockage in the matrix wont stop mains water coming in
you changed the reed but that cant be the problem either as the reed cant register anything unless you have water flow

ParticipantThanks Dave,
Will do as suggested; agreed fill valve may be faulty, and only opening late in cycle…
I trust you are well, and will update you next week.

ParticipantAre you sure this is a fault? I went to a Bosch dishwasher a week or two back and had exactly the same thing when testing. Had given up waiting for it to fill and was about to start further investigation when it suddenly started to fill and was fine. Maybe it’s just the software checking something before the cycle continues. If it starts to fill on its own after five mins, then maybe that’s what it’s meant to do. Graham

ParticipantWell, Graham,
Perhaps it’s another one of life’s great mysteries?
However, I’m sure “it” should fill rather more quickly on a new cycle, and will be wiser next week…

ParticipantReturned earlier today and did more testing and monitoring.
It looks very much like a board problem, as when tested, the dishwasher worked perfectly on two separate cycles.
However, the third time a new programme was selected, it failed to draw water due to no signal from the module to aqua stop/fill valve.
The wiring is fine, so must be the expensive board, which is disappointing as the appliance is just nicely out of guarantee.
