I have a problem with my Bosch dishwasher, and by researching it have come to the conclusion that the flood prevention float switch is blocked, I can see that there is a load of horrible stuff in the assembly and I’m hoping this is the problem. I see no evidence anywhere of a leak.

The symptoms are, ‘Check water supply’ warning light is illuminated and pump runs constantly, even when the door is open.

I’ve seen some helpful guides online, but they are for different Bosch models and the assemblies look nothing like mine.

I’m hoping somebody on here is familiar with this model.

My question is: How do I remove the assembly to clean it without breaking something ? There is an aluminium cover plate I’ve removed, now it looks to me like I can pop out a couple of plastic clips and just pull it away, but Im afraid to do it – is there a special way to detach the float valve connection from the wall of the machine first ?

Sorry if this is confusing, but I’ve attached a picture of the assembly which hopefully helps.

Many thanks in advance for any help.

There’s water in the base, forget the fill matrix and remove the metal base cover instead.

Thanks for answering so quickly. By the metal base cover do you mean the floor panel inside the dishwasher ? again, if so there is no obvious way to do this. It’s plastic on this model.

Are you saying you think there is water in the base and the float switch is not clogged ?

Sorry, my mistake as your model has a all plastic subframe. But nonetheless that must be flooded and needs draining off. Something within is leaking cause the base to flood and trip the anti flood device. Access via front plinth removal.

Ok I’ll give that a try, thanks again, your help is much appreciated.

I still would like to clean out that assembly while I have it out as its a real mess in there, even if it isn’t the cause of the problem.

Would you know how to remove it ?

    Or anybody else ?

Thanks Martin. So where the float switch tube connects to the machine should just be pulled out ? It’s all part of the assembly, is this connection just a push fit ?

    Re: Bosch smv50c00gb problem

Once you’ve unscrewed the internal connections inside the tub the whole assembly just lifts/unhooks from the side frame, up and clear.

Martin you’re a genius. You’re spot on, there was a small amount of water in the base after all. All I did was pull the plinth cover off like you said and I could see right in and I soaked up the liquid and let it dry. I can see the polystyrene float switch on the base. I’ve let it run a couple of cycles and been watching closely for drips with a torch but can’t see anything. I’ll keep a close eye on it. Can’t thank you enough for your help.
