PIA built-in, sits on 4″ plinth to bring it up to extra high worktop. With aquastop just to add to the problem. Fault reported initially was “not heating”. Went through things from front. No fault found.
Fault was intermittent. Worked OK next three washes. (= couple of months as infrequently used). Then “not heating” reported again.
Pulled machine out, took front and sides off. Watched short fill again and again. Tried cleaning out hose going from base of matrix to sump by poking things into it from sump end. Does not appear blocked.
Machine does fill but only for about ten seconds then circulation pump kicks in and no further fill takes place.
Dismantled aquastop. Seems to function perfectly OK, though it is mounted vertically but has been so for 15? years. It is not that the diaphragm on the aquastop is operating. Rather the current cuts off to the valve too soon. Tried blowing through all clear pressure tubes. No blockages detected there.
Will return probably next friday for another go. Am wondering about (reed?) switch within matrix. Pt no 029655. Do they give problems? Any ideas appreciated.

This one fills by draining a tank on the back of the machine. The water level in the tank is indicated by the rearmost tube in the water matrix. So, the tank must be full before the water is released into the machine by the solenoid at the bottom of the matrix.
Usual problem that I come across is the softener unit solidifying and preventing water flow. Using a soft handled screwdriver, gentle and persistant tapping of the softener whilst the solenoid is open will usually break up the softener and allow the tank to drain fully into the machine.
