Bosch SPS40E32GB/40 Dishwasher.

Hi guys,

I’m sure this’ll be easily answered by you, I’ve not been repairing appliances for a few years as plumbing/gas takes up most of my work. Anyway, been to see a Bosch SPS40E32GB/40 dishwasher which wasn’t pumping out. Removed the pump and the impeller was damaged. I’ve replaced the pump but the machine doesn’t appear to want to pump out (either when reset or a new cycle started). Oddly if I remove the pump from the sump and test it, it works. If I’m honest I’m flummoxed as to what could be the issue.

Hoping one of you guys can point me in the right direction.

is the pump turning at all when its installed ?

assume to test you removed pump and attached it to the machines wires and turned on

if pump running and not getting rid of water, is the pump cover in place ?

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the reply, the pump doesn’t seem to want to operate once in position with the pump cover refitted. You are correct in how I tested the pump, when connected to it’s harness it worked flawlessly!

ok if thats the case
if the pump works out it should work in

try
install pump, remove pump cover inside, check impellor turns
then use a magnet to fool the unit the door is closed and see if you can run the pump. this way you can watch it
