Have acquired above slimline dishwasher for myself. Was low insulation due to crusty salt deposit between reed switch and cabinet. On the 65 degree wash after filling the unit decides to fill again (about 3 minutes later) with the full fill cycle causing the base to flood. is the housing at the top of the IWMS supposed to hold water where the pressure switch hose is attached to the removable bell?

    😕

The air duct sits in the upper part of the metering tank and feeds the water level pressure switch. But you also need to look closely at a possible flooded water block hose (to the inlet valve that is)

Blew through hose on aquastop was clear. fault still present.
    1. So should this appliance fill once only and then disregard the pressure switch as the timer moves on? The water slowly drains into the cabinet after filling. It seems to fill again one timer click just before the drain for the prewash kicks in. (knackered timer?)
    2. Is the aquastop diaphraghm valve used to prevent the machine filling again once it has filled?
    3. Have i mixed up the tubes on the panel? if looking from the front at the bottom there are 3 tubes connected. At the very front the top one goes to the base polystyrene float. The one below it goes to the aquastop valve and just behind it is the tube with the plug in the end to drain the panel. Water level drops in the resin section when the plug is pulled out. 😳

    Thanks Simon.

Sussed it. The 14 year old inlet valve on the back of the IWMS was not holding the fill water in the tank ready for the next cycle and the air duct compartment was not staying full with water to keep the pressure switch contacts engaged. Thought it was a high level fill being an old machine!

Question: Why is the original wash pump/heater/drain pump still working after being built in 1991?

    😀 😀 😀 😀

Quality, Simon, Quality. Ee lad, they just don’t make ’em like it these days….. Usual fault with these involved beating the resin matrix with a plastic screwdriver handle to get the blasted thing to fill at all.

You’ll get years out of it now.

Appliance is now filling but very slow transfer from tank to sump. Pump hunts have to add water from kettle.shoved pressure hose up sump no gunk. Any ideas?

    Re: Bosch SPS51225/07 over filling

there are 2 valves at the bottom of the side chamber /inlet valve
one of them is not fully closing
the appliance takes in a 2nd load of water during the wash to heat the new lot of cold water by the hot water inside. if the valve doesn’t fully close the new water goes into the machine instead of staying in the side chamber causing the flood. usually taking the valves and pistons out and cleaning scale off them does the trick.
    hope this helps

Damn. Salt encrustation down side panel has caused RCD to trip. Back to square one :haier: .Seal around salt compartment to cabinet is leaking and cabinet is pitted. Is Debor poisoinous?

Not at all but ineffective in a case like this, you need to use epoxy steel putty like ‘Quiksteel’ etc, debor is useless for that I’m afraid! 🙁

Ta Martin. Plastic salt compartment which fits into Inner cabinet is bowed. might order seal (perished)and compartment housing as well off bsh.
