KeymasterHi – my bosch stops after about 3 minutes operation – it starts by running the drain pump and will drain any water left in it – but then it stops before the next cycle which is to fill from the cold main – ive had the engineer out before when it was under warranty but now it isnt – he stated that if the dishwasher flooded that it would need resetting – i dont think it has flooded but would like to try the reset procedure – i think ithe reset is to do with the inlet valve – does anyone know where i can find this reset?

ParticipantThis is a digital machine? To reset, look on the control panel at the programme buttons, 2 of them will have small black dots below. Hold them down and switch on. After about a minute, it should all go quiet – progs reset.
This may well not solve your problem. After the initial drain-out at the start of the programme, the machine should fill. As you do not have continual drain pump operation, the fill step is the problem. Either the valve has failed; or you may have an Aquastop fill hose. If tripped, you must turn off the water supply, depressurise the fill hose and then reconnect.
If this restarts your machine, you still need to find out why it tripped. If you’re not sure get some help! You can either check in “Directories” for your postcode, or leave it here and someone will pick up on it.
Whatever you do, pull the plug FIRST!

Sounds like the flood protection on the inlet valve is getting set off. You can check this by listening to the machine when it stops & won’t do anything – if the flood protection has set, you will hear a humming noise coming from the valve. In these slimlines it may be in the machine itself or, as Penguin says, in an ‘aquastop’. This is a grey box on the end of the inlet hose attatched to the tap on your pipework. The reset procedure is, again as Penguin says, to turn off the water supply th the appliance, disconnect the hose to release pressure & reconnect.
However, there is always a reason for this happening. I suggest that you get someone to look at it who knows what they are doing, as they are not an easy machine to work on.
Also please mention, when calling an engineer, that it is a Slimline dishwasher, as many engineers won’t even look at then. You can always post the area you live in on the site & maybe one of us can help you.Wizard

Got on to it this saturday – stripped it down, drained the side panel, checked connections, 3 hours later, running like new.
