I’ve got a Bosch SPV40C10GB/32 Dishwasher which no longer dispenses rinse aid. By that I mean that the level doesn’t go down and the glasses come out with a white bloom on them and nothing cones out with a shine as they once did.

It’s been a recurring issue and it first went wrong the first time just out of warranty so I bought a new dispenser (00755073) which fixed the fault. 18 months after buying the new part, it has gone wrong again. It doesn’t look like there is any way to repair it and I’d rather not buy another one because they don’t seem to last that long! This part is used in a wide variety of makes (Bosch, Neff & Siemens) so I can’t understand why it keeps failing. Am I doing something wrong?

Has anyone else had the same issue or does anyone have a fix?

    Thanks

I managed to get to the bottom of this – eventually! There is a setting documented in the manual which allows you to set the amount of Rinse Aid you want to use. What I didn’t realise was that it is possible to turn off the Rinse Aid dispensing function totally. I’ve never changed this but it seems that either we accidentally altered the setting or the machine changed this setting without us knowing.

The settings are not obvious and in our case, we had to turn the machine on and press the Start and Right Hand Arrow buttons together to get into a sub-menu. From there we cycled through the menu until the Rinse Aid symbol (snowflake) was lit. It showed no lights, indicating that it was switched off. After changing the setting to 3, the Rinse Aid started to be dispensed.

    Hope it helps someone!
