ParticipantI’ve just been to a fault on the above dishwasher. The customer reported that the cycle would not complete in the time which the dishwasher specified on its digital display. It would count down to 1 min remain but carry on “making a noise” until switched off manually.
On arrival I reset it and placed it on the ‘quick cycle’ for test purposes. It became obvious straight away that the machine was just filling and filling regardless of water level. This in due course triggered the red overfill float which is mounted within its chamber behind the left hand side panel. This results in a lock out cycle which the machine cannot escape as it fills and then triggers the float (which triggers the outlet pump), partly emptying, then carrying on with its fill.
On inspection the machine, which is around 2 years old, doesnt have a method for determining the water quantity in the sump / base. It has the red float similar to some Bosch dishwashers of the last ten years but it doesnt have the additional pressure chamber with the second microswitch and blue level which earlier models had.
Could this be a dreaded ‘timed fill’ type of fault?
All comments welcome.

ParticipantCheck to see if it has an ‘impellor jug’ inline with the inlet hose . A classic fault sympton one of these will cause a continual
fill/empty/fill/empty cycle .EDIT Ok , having just checked , you will probably need part number 607138. It is a flow rate meter and is the small white cylinder connected to the bottom of the water matrix on the LHS. You may find the impellor inside is jammed .

Yes – I saw one of those – I’ll check it tomorrow. Is it repairable if it does turn out to be jammed?

ParticipantIf i remember , they are a sealed unit . Unless there is something obvious ‘blocking’ the flow meter , you’d probably be better off replacing it to avoid a callback.

Change the ‘impellor jug’. It’s not repairable & not expensive, about £15-20. I’ve done about half a dozen of these, now keep one as van stock. J
