My 10 year old Bosch SRS43C12GB/14 stopped mid-cycle while we were out. Dishwasher tablet part dissolved, water in the bottom of the machine, no lights on the panel. Fuses and power supply checked out OK. I’ve switched everything on and off several times, tried the reset key combination, but still no lights and no action. It had stopped mid-cycle a couple of times recently, but the lights were still on and a session of reset/switch off/switch on again a few times sorted it out. Looking through the forum it could be the control pcb, or just possibly the main switch, or possibly even the mains suppression capacitor (although the plug fuses were OK). My question is, do the previous mid-cycle stoppages suggest the pcb rather than anything else? If so, I’d be inclined to get another similar machine and not have to think about it for another 10 years, rather than spend time and money propping it up until the next end-of-life failure. Any opinions gratefully received.

If you haven’t already done so I suggest you visit Bosch’s recall website repairaction.co.uk and get the urgent FREE recall. Chances are that’s your problem right there my friend. 😉

Amazing – many thanks! The dishwasher is subject to the recall, and so a Bosch engineer will replace the pcb on Friday free of charge. By the way, repairaction.co.uk won’t get you to the website on some browsers, including Firefox – you have to enter http://www.repairaction.co.uk

The impressively efficient and prompt Bosch repair technician came this morning, replaced the control pcb for free as per the recall, and the machine sprang into life. He didn’t think the pcb had expired because of the problem that stimulated the recall – it was just old age, which was what I suspected. But I’d never have known about the recall if it hadn’t been for you guys – thanks again!
