    Good afternoon everyone,

I am investigating an unusual problem on the above slimline d/w.

The customer has quite rightly reported that her dishwasher will not drain fully.

I have inspected, and checked the m/c which leaves too much water in the base/sump after a cycle.
The level at the end of a drain cycle is about level with the top of the filter.

When the appropriate stage is reached, the drain pump works intermittently, pumping out a good rate of water when doing so.
Pumps for several seconds, pauses for several seconds, pumps for several seconds, pauses etc until timed out.

However, as it is not working continuously it it not draining fully.

I have removed and electrically tested the pump, which is fine, and doesn’t appear to be weak.

I suspect the electronic control unit, and wonder if anyone has come across this fault, or can advise.

    Best wishes,

    jontymox

The pump is designed to operate on and off like that, it’s normal. The problem more likely caused by a blockage or restriction somewhere in the drain outlet. Take the one way flap valve out and flush it from the other end of the drain hose is best!

    Thank you Martin,

Further investigation found a partial blockage in the drain hose between m/c and sink unit.

Fortunately I managed to clear it, as the hose goes under the kitchen floor due to location of m/c!

    Best wishes,
