This dryer trips the over temp cut out when on for 20 mins. approx and the customer has removed the rear casing and reset himself several times. :eeek:
Flow of air and ventilation all seem ok so I`m assuming thermostat problem.
Three stats listed for this dryer 154167 , 154134 , 163282 . Would it be best to replace all 3 stats or is one of these on its own more likely the problem ❓
Any help or advice would be most appreciated.
I have yet to change a stat on one of these machines to be honest. I would tend to suspect the fan is the problem, either fluffed up or loose on the motor spindle. 💡
Don’t let that put you off ordering new stats, but as I say, I’ve never had problems with them (so far at least anyway 🙄 )
Thanks for the advice lads. Must admitt I didn`t spend much time on this dryer as I was there to replace the pump on their washing machine. This was one of them “oh you couldn`t have a look at the tumble dryer as well could you?” There did however appear to be a reasonable flow of air from vent hose though 😕
I`ll check fan/motor more thoroughly before ordering any stats.
Check that the fluff filter is not merely fluff free, but still porous.
I’ve had all the tiny holes block with a barely visible film before now.
And, I have had the rear (on heater box) sensor fail a few times, but normally it cuts off the element well before the overheat stat pops out.
🙂
