WF02464GB, Bosch Exxcel 1200. Washes as normal, digits count down to 1 min – then machine continues to wash for another 30/40 mins until it switches to rinse, then spin.

Possibly related problem – machine trips the circuit breaker. Presumably a short of some kind. Have lifted the earth temporarily – but aware that this is far from desirable.

Any assistance v gratefully received – wife becoming desperate….

    Hi
Firstly discontinue using the appliance and restore your “lifted” earth immediatly, for your own safety. :zap:
I would then be looking at a faulty heater ie- earth breakdown.
Power off if you are to check (with a Megger) for the earth fault.
If in any doubt please feel free to use the engineer link below who will be able to diagnose and repair the appliance for you.

Re: Bosch takes hours to wash

Many thanks Greg – have taken your advice re the earth.

I’ve tested the heater element, and I think it’s at fault. My meter shows 20kOhms across the terminals (sounds v high), and between one of the terminals and the earth it’s 2kOhms (sounds v low).

I have 2 questions – how do I get hold of a new one, and how do I replace it? Does it just pull out?

Grateful for all your help, M.

    You can source a new one at spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk quoting p/no 265961 – £38.50 + costs.

    Hi
Loosen nut and basically tease heater out.It will be a devil but new one will slide in better as rubber won’t be swollen. 😉
