Participantanybody got any ideas on how to repair holes in outer plastic tubs on a bosch washing machine, ( can supply more details if needed ) customer ran it with transport bolts in place and nearly snapped two of the lugs off the outer drum. ( where transport bolts were fitted to )

Hi
dependant on where and how big the holes are you might try to weld the peices back on using a gas soldering iron which will melt the plastic to rebond bearing in mind that this would only be a temp repair as the tank is a structural part and will have to take a lot of flexing.other than that new tank.

Can’t you guys sleep or what? Middle of the night talking about busted outer drums….. ❗
No patch-up can be affected on polypropelene tub unless its a tiny hole and then a squirt of silicone sealant will suffice. In this case a good excuse for a proper repair I reckon 🙂

Its not called milliput at Qualtex, but you can get something exactly the same from them, part No: MIS 86. Tub repair epoxy putty.
I use it all the time for coin damaged drums. Very good for smallish holes, not much use for large cracks though. Sets like rock, you can even repair copper piping with it.

do u mean ‘quiksteel’? The stuff off Peter 😉
It sounds the same. Sets in water like steel. It’s great! You can drill it! It’s not flexible dor.
