ParticipantFault with the above E-Nr = WTA4007GB/01. Not producing any heat, nothing visually wrong with anything when back plate removed. Fault tripped the house fuse box. Thermostat (with red button) nearest the heater seems ok – doesn’t click when pressed. New heater element required? Any advice gratefully received :rolls:

Did it blow a fuse or did you mean that the consumer unit RCD tripped?
In any event a test with an insulation meter should reveal the source and the element the being primary suspect I would think?

Sorry, yes I meant the RCD. That’s two nominations for the element!
Thanks 😉June 28, 2007 at 9:36 pm #218793gegsy

Greg,
Yet another WTA 4107 element failure!! Following on from your PM I am going to take the matter of the elements dying just over the 12 months with Bosch but in the meantime I have bought a replacement from the UKW shop. The part number I have bought is 583170. I assume that this is an equivalent to the part number you have quoted which I assume is the genuine Bosch one.
I received the element yesterday but have not got round to fitting it yet. Any pointers gratefully appreciated so that I son’t dismantle anything unnecessarily! (I should have paid more attention when Dan changed the last one under warranty)
Also a big thanks to Dave? or is it Don? at the “shop” for the fast delivery & honest p&p charges of the heater elementCheers

Hi Clive
Its Dave, but he will answer to anything 😆
The heater you have is correct and you are correct I quoted genuine part number 😀
What I would say is take your time and be very careful of the sharp edges on the heater.
The person you need to address your complaint/query to is a Mr Andy Jeron at BSH in Milton Keynes.Greg

Greg,
Thanks for the info on the contact at Bosch. Do you have a contact number or email address for him directly or is it a case of ringing the normal customer services & being on hold for ages!
Finally a quick question regarding the fitting of the replacement element. My dryer is stacked above the washer so I was wondering can I fit the element from the back of the dryer or is it from undeneath, as if the latter is the case I will obviously need to split the two units apart. Thanks again

Hi
Usual switchboard then ask for him 😉
You can do it all from the back and don’t forget the usual, unplug appliance before attempting :plug:Greg
