ParticipantHi All,
I just found this forum today and I’m glad I did because my Bosch tumble dryer has stopped heating and I managed to get some good advise simply by searching this forum. It seems the first thing I need to do is check the thermostats and element, so I was wondering if anyone had any experience of Bosh tumble dryers and could indicate how accessible these parts are. The model is WTA3100GB/05.
Many thanks in advance for any information.October 27, 2005 at 8:38 pm #152054gegsy

Hi
Start with removing rear steel cover (appliance unplugged of course) and make sure the thermal stat; situated on heater block adjacent to cycling stat, hasnt tripped, reset by pressing red button; a small click will be heard if it has tripped.
If this is the case you need to find cause now.
Let us know when you have checked this to go further with diagnostics.Greg

Thanks gegsy, I didn’t know there was a thermal stat on this dryer. It wouldn’t surprise me if that had tripped, with 2 young children in our house the dryer is going every day and it sometimes gets a bit “over-filled”. I think I saw somewhere too on this forum where the advise was to always leave the dryer to run its complete cycle (including the cool tumble at the end). I have to admit, we don’t always do this 😳 This is an excellent forum for information. I will let you know how it goes when I open it up over the weekend.
Once again, many thanks.October 27, 2005 at 8:57 pm #152056gegsy

Ok
Things that really upset dryers1/ Overloading ie dont use shoe horn and vaseline
2/ Clogged lint filter
3/ Blocked/obstructed vents
4/ Not allowing last 10 mins of cycle (cool down period)
5/ Opening door to check if clothes are dry and removing them because they are…. see above
Hope that gives you some pointersGreg
