Customers Bosch upright freezer model GSN32A20GB has the alarm coming on all the time?
The freezer keeps cool and when they put the milk in this morning it has frozen ok. Bosch tried to get them to power down and then back up but the alarm stays on.
Anybody got an idea what the problem might be as I have a visit there tomorrow, sensor, pcb etc. Not my normal bread and butter work on these freezers.

You’ll prob find the evaporator iced over (behind the grill at the top of the freezer compartment ) shine a torch through it and if its all snowed up behind it , it may just need a 48hr defrost . The frozen evaporator will also mean the sensor is frozen and will give odd readings , hence the alarm going off………

    Thanks nomadPaul
    Spot on

Took out baskets of food but luckily the ground temp was 3* centigrade this morning.
Went straight to the evaporator at the top as you suggested and it was completely blocked with ice having hinged it down a little at the front.. Carefully used a hair dryer to melt the ice and then clear the hole at the back to let the water run out and fill the plastic container.
Have left the compressor running to bring the temp back down and wait for customer to get back to see if alarm has gone out.

    Back again

Left customer around 1.00pm lunch time and he tells me that the alarm still comes on the Bosch freezer around 6.00pm tonight?
Should it have pumped down to a realistic level by now or have I still got a problem with the freezer. Unit was set at minus 18* centigrade.
If so would it be the sensor built above the evaporator or the pcb directly above with the read out?
Any help gratefully received as I have not dismantled one of these units if needed to get the pcb out.
