ParticipantBosch Washer Dryer (new Type, 2 1/2 years old)
WDU28560GB/03
FD 9908 Znr 400438Customer complaint, machine will not reach the higher spin speeds, instead it continues doing the distribution phase.
Confirmed upon visit, along with strange motor noise (Please view video clip). Isolated drum bearings and motor by removing belt, the bearings sounded perfect when drum spun by hand. Motor felt rough.

Any one else had issues with these motors. I’m reluctant to just go ahead and order one as they have very expensive control modules and am unsure it the control module has been effected, or is the cause of the not spinning. Although I presume its motor related.
Any thoughts greatly appreciated.
Happy New year all.

Moderatorserial gives it a date of aug 2019 which is a little older than you think
date code 9908 99+20 =19 so 2019 08 is month so august
try running a drop of light oil into the motor bearings and see if it gets quieter.
prob not the inverter but can never be certain. if you had lost an inverter phase it would struggle to move when loaded during wash. is this the case ?

ParticipantI had a similar fault with a Bosch washing machine I removed the belt and still it would not spin. I assume the problem with the motor was fooling the module into thinking it was an oob load, anyway I replaced the motor and it solved the problem. Obviously this might be different to yours.

ParticipantThanks for the replies.
No, it doesnt struggle to rotate with a full load, it just wont get past the distribution phase and into the higher spin speeds. Even when the load is perfectly balanced (very minimal tub wobble) the second i expect it to ramp up, it stops and starts again.
I’m going to replace the motor and will report back if it solves the problem. My thinking is the same as oldsodchops, it’s as if the module knows something is wrong with the motor.
Cheers.
