    Hey all,

Called to one of these this eve and the inner drum seems to have broke a couple of mounts from the shaft,
I took the bearings out and looked at the shaft, coz with a 1600 spin its been thru the mill a bit going by how noisy he said it was, but there doesn’t seem to by any other damage, the brass is good as are the bearings.
Does anyone one know how the drum is attached to the shaft and if this is a common problem?
Can the shaft be reattached with nuts/bolts etc or will I have to buy a new inner drum assy?
And finally, can this be done from removing the front or is it a drum out job?

    Cheers

    Dave

This is the fully integrated Smeg clone…..hmmm nice! :rolls:

The drum spigot (473747) does come seperate from the drum so no problems there (apart from the price that is)

As far as I can tell (not having done one mind you) it can all come out from the front. Check out the drawing on the Bosch eShop and you’ll see what I mean. 😉

    Good luck.

    Thanks Martin,

Landlord is not interested in having it repaired and wants me to replace with same.
However, there’s only two Bosch integrated W/Ds available here and they are, wait for it, 1170 and 1250 euro respectively!!
So he won’t be going for that then…

    2 questions:-

If he insists, Does anyone know of a good washer/dryer (an oxymoron if ever there was one!)that I could recommend?

    And

Is there any point in taking the old Smeg/Bosch (Smosch?)and repairing it?
There’s a local Meals on Wheels who’ll need a W/D soon (they have a WD440, so probably very soon…) I could repair it and donate it to them, but only if it’s an ok machine, do they cause a lot of trouble, should i walk away?

    Cheers
