ParticipantJust a short little note on inlet valve failure.
Had 1 of these models where the valve cluster fails by not cutting off the water after using the drying cycle with potential disasterous effects: big bloody flood! This fault has nothing to do with over filling whilst on wash or rinse and has nothing to do after the machine has finished whether the power is left on or turned off. It is soley to do with the valve itself failing to cut the water off. H20 head pressure is normal.
The point is after replacing the offendingvalve the same thing reoccured after 45 hours!- yeeks! So be warned. The part is made in China so this may or maybe not be the problem??
Anyone else experienced this? Anyone know why this is happening? Bosch have been good and are sending a replacement valve out free but what if it happens yet again?
Owner is pretty ancient so cannot turn off the tap fully when not in use and in anycase that won`t be much help if put on t/drying and the machine finishes only to phiss water in the drum.
What is happening with Bosch quality?

A contradictory statement from someone who regularly praises the Oriental carp. 😉

So far not had a problem with this valve specifically but by their very nature new washer dryer valves can be just as reliable as the one you replace.
This elderly customer not being able to isolate the water is not surprising though I’m sure you advised isolating the power once the machine has finished?
Here’s hoping too that your public liability insurance is up to date?

Yes and yes. But that has nothing to do with valve failure. Here’s hoping too that your public liability insurance is up to date?
Yes. Lucky for me I think i`ve got a copy of your policy. Thanks for the concern Martin.April 25, 2018 at 4:27 pm #4554501totalshambles

UPDATE.
Got a new replacement valve to replace the recent new one that was still giving trouble and luckily that one lasted………..3 days!! So that was 2 new valves in total. Sent back to get refund having refunded customer. Lucky too second valve did not cause a flood.
600 quid (?) 5 year old Bosch now scrapped. Terrible isn`t it? -
