ParticipantHi folks
Been to this one today but seems a bit weird so I thought I might run it past you folks out there.
Switch the machine to a any program – indicates time – then before you can do anything the display starts to indicates zero and door lock light flashes.
Thought possible door lock fault but the lock I had on my van was different to the one fitted – the one fitted looks like it had a release on it like the Hotpoint type and mine was a straight forward thermal.
Then found out from the customer it was only 5 months old so I referred her to Bosch under their 2 year warranty but just out of interest I wondered what you folks thought was the problem. Can’t find a zero fault code anywhere and thought it would display a “F” in front of the number if it was a fault code. Customer couldn’t find instruction book so I couldn’t check if it was just a simple reset.
Any thoughts appreciated.
Thanks
Mick

Key symbol flashing = Child lock activated.

Thanks Martin
Did think about that but there is no clock button and the key symbol doesn’t stop flashing which ever program you put it to. Also in my experiance whenever the child lock was activated the program time remained on screen not changed to zero.
Off course it could have been changed by Bosch to display zero now so you know the child lock is on :rolls: but as I said the customer couldn’t find the instruction book for me to confirm :rolls: :rolls: . Did download one from the Bosch site but was next to useless as only showed one page and that was nothing model specific.

On the contrary THE DOWNLOAD PAGE is very comprehensive and shows the user manual in its entirety. In the case of this machine you simply press and hold the start button for 5 seconds to de-activate the Child lock.I’m not saying that that is the fault but something to at least eliminate before calling BSH out as they charge for ‘customer education’ calls. 😉

The reason its saying zero is probably because its still showing the end of the last cycle used . And Martin , because I’m a nice chap I would let them off as ‘customer advice’ …..allowed for appliances less than 6months old 🙂

Thanks guys – will give her a quick ring in the morning and get her to do that before she calls Bosch. Presume it will reset without setting to the original program and the lock light flashing on all programs? Will let you know how I get on. It was the zero light that was throwing me.
