ParticipantOur washing machine Bosch WAE24369GB/27 is about 8 years old, it washes and spins and drains OK. It gets to the end of the cycle, and then clicks, and the door releases. But it’s left with 1 minute showing on the clock, and never gets to zero, and never beeps to indicate the end of the wash. The door unlocks so we manually move the dial to “off” and take the washing out.
This happens intermittently. The drain hose is plumbed into the waste trap from the kitchen sink – I noticed the drain outside was clogged up with food and debris so I cleaned it all up so that the water can run out freely from the pipe into the drain. Then the washing machine worked as normal counting down to zero and beeping at the end. Now it’s started again, finishing with 1 minute left. The drain is still clear..
Can anyone give any advice?

ParticipantThanks for your answer. We just did another wash now and it stopped correctly at zero and beeped at the end – quite frustrating that it’s not consistent. I can feel the glass front getting warm during the wash. Can this be caused by a fault with the heater when it is heating, but not properly?

Moderatorits normally caused by the heater having an earth fault. not enough to blow the trip in your house but just enough to upset the electronics
can be other causes but the heater is a known one
