ParticipantHi,
I have E43 error code showing on my machine. Looking on line it looks likely to be the brushes. How do I tell if its the brushes or the bearings or something else (preferably without dismantling as I don’t have a clue what I’m doing!)?
I gather the bearings aren’t actually economically changeable. Is that correct?
If its a reasonable fix Id like to try.
Thank you!!

Moderatorwont be bearings unless the drum has jammed
does the machine come up with the error code as soon as turned on ?

ParticipantHi Dave,
Thank you for the response.
The drum is not jammed ( i.e. I can manually move it freely) and yes as soon as I switch the machine to any setting the error message comes up.Jenny

Moderatorthat makes no sense, are you sure of that number
from that it was made either 1949 or 2049 both of which cant be true
was trying to figure how old it was to get an idea of work its done. if its 5 to 7 years or so with above average wear then it could indeed be brushes
but someone would have to strip the machine to conform or dent thisif you dont have a clue then you need professional help

ParticipantSorry Dave, I mixed up a number its 9210001488. Dads got an engineering back ground so Im hoping if I establish what it is and get the parts he can sort it.
Thank you.March 22, 2023 at 8:39 pm #486290electrofix
Moderatorthats 2012 october
thats more like itat that age its likely the brushes have failed. you would have to remove them to check. be careful you note which way up they are as the end of the brush is angled to contact the armature

after the brush is fitted the machine will possibly need to be reset.
will help with that when you know where your going
cant promise this fault is correct but its highly likely
