Bosch WAQ283S1GB cutting out mid cycle

Hi,

I have a Bosch washing machine, WAQ283S1GB, about 3 months old. It cuts out mid-way through a program. For example if we put it on the Easy Care 40 degree wash cycle, which is 1h43mins, it will cut out when it gets to 1h28mins. It does similar for other cycles although I am unsure the exact timings of these.

When I say cutting out, it will appear to turn off (all lights will go off). If left a few minutes it seems to come back on and the timer is still at 1h28, but doesnt start the wash cycle again. It will just sit there and the timer will count down but no more activity. And it doesnt do it everytime either. It can be a full load or a lighter load, doesn’t seem to matter.

I had to cut the moulded plug off and wire straight into a switch box with a 13amp fuse which was installed by an electrician in place of a normal plug socket. Not sure if this could be issue?. Have checked and rechecked all cables connect so don’t think so. Any ideas please?

It is indicative of a mains supply failure so I suspect the plugtop connections are at fault (arcing maybe?) or that the wall socket itself is at fault.

Check those out firt and if still OK then call Bosch and get them to check it out. Do not mess with the appliance itself as you could invalidate the guarantee.
