I’m posting for somebody else who has a Bosch WAQ283S1GB.

Which cycle is more economical, Mixed Load or Cottons? This is assuming that they are being used at the same temperature?

My understanding is that the Cottons cycle is more economical as it should use less water during the wash, therefore require less heat. But it’s being argued that the Mixed Load shouldn’t cost as much to run as it isn’t running for as long (60 minutes vs 165 minutes), even though they are probably filling the drum for the Mixed Load cycle which likely increases the time and power consumption.

I’m hoping somebody can explain which cycle is more economical and why.

The answers are in the Consumption Table from the Bosch website. Note that the Mixed Load programme is only for 3.5kg whereas Cottons can do the full 8kg.
