Hi, I’ve replaced bearings and drum seals many times on my old Zanussi, the time has now come to perform the same replacement on my (the wife’s) Bosch machine Excel 7 Varioperfect. Has anyone undertaken this and if so any tips or anything unusual to consider.
Update – Model is WAQ28460GB/06 – Spoke with Bosch regarding spare parts and they don’t provide a bearing and or drum seal kit. They will however supply me with a new complete tub for £223.26!!!!!!!
At this cost the machine repair will be beyond economical repair – surely someone from the forums has encountered this issue and replaced the bearings without replacing the whole tub?
The dreaded sealed tank syndrome. No you can’t repair it it’s a complete sealed unit, one out one in. It keeps the price of the appliances down granted but when the bearings fail as yours has then it’s time for a new one. Good for the manufacturers but not good for the environment or the repairers.
