Bosch WAS doorseal clamp bands

Bosch WAS24466GB/11 doorseal requires replacing. Is there a reason that the doorseal kit comes complete with clamp bands? Are they needed?

I can only think some folks throw the old ones and the door boot away before ordering new? Either that or they are fractionally smaller in diameter and thus tighter fitting. But they are tough bu&&ers to fit anyway as the springs are so strong.

I’d keep hold of a couple of pairs just in case otherwise into the metal recyling bin with them. 😉

Have they reverted back to just a spring retainer instead of wire and spring, this was in the last seal I fitted last week

seems the ones that come in box’s have a screw clamp supplied while the ones in bags have a spring band just as tight as the original. Several differing part numbers for what looks like the same seal.
