ParticipantHi guys, went out today to the above washer showing e57, apparently e57 is a door lock, changed door lock but no joy, it does lock but that’s it nothing else, I was In a bit of a rush so didn’t check anything else, could it be the brushes like the merlonie machines?? Googled and checked on here but not much info on e57,
Thanks in advance for any infoJanuary 2, 2015 at 7:23 am #423069MANDELLS

I have a suspicion that f57/e57 is actually a motor control module fault. Does it feel like the drum has jammed? The drum may jerk as it rotates or stops turning altogether.

Hi paul, thanks for the reply the drum is free, I’m going to whip the motor of and have a quick look at the brushes, I know the indesit/hot point machines look the door and do nothing else so I think il try ghost, but thanks again for your input

you’ll have a problem there add is a brushless motor 😀 I’m even more certain that is the motor module at fault – I’ve checked and the error code is definitely motor/inverter related and i have never had a faulty induction motor to date, always been motor module.

Just aQuick update today I went back to the customers house and Double-checked the machine, on inspection I found the motor was a lot more stiff to turn but would turn, as I’ve never come across these inductionbrushless motors before can I assume that this is the fault??

Was the motor still plugged into the motor module? As i said earlier, I’ve yet to replace a motor but i have replaced plenty of motor modules that give the exact fault that you’re describing.
