ParticipantBosch washer drier. Model:- WVH28420GB/02. FD 9005.
Can anyone tell me what bearings and shaft seal (kit or separate) fit this machine. The tub has part number 249004 but no mention of bearings anywhere. There is a photo of the tub on Connect but the bearings are not fitted…… :rolls:
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Steve.

I can’t find anything Steve. 😕
Email Dave would be my suggestion, he’s good at tracking that sort of thing down and doesn’t I’ve in the forums like the normal people do. 😉

Connect part inquiry came back as “bearings supplied complete with tub half”. £198 BSH own site retail price…part only. 😯
So that’s pretty much it, isn’t it? BSH follows the herd and integrates the bearing with the tub then prices the part to try to blackmail the customer into an overpriced repair or scrapping the machine. It isn’t 3 years old yet. Is this the Bosch of the future or just a one off?
Looks like bearing jobs now a thing of the past even on the high class stuff.

Sounds about right.
And, there’s bog all info on that machine in respect to the bearings either.
If ou can get me the seal size and nth bearings I’ll perhaps be able to find a suitable kit for you. The trick is the seal.

Ah but it’s now only £173 trade direct from BSH, roll up, roll up!

OMG….another one!
WAQ28460GB/06 with bearing failure only 5 months out of 2 year guarantee… 😯 This one shows the drum assembly supplied only as one unit. Must be bonded. 👿
What is left to recommend in the £300 – £500 bracket?

ah, this one (the original post of this thread) is the air to air condenser washer drier sold as an eco sound machine as it uses no water when drying…..shame it will be in landfill after 2 years then.

They’re super recyclable now, scrap merchants are fighting amongst themselves over them. :clown:

Got the go-ahead today (Quoted with the tub = £320 job)!! 😯 Have to say, I’m a little surprised that the customer didn’t get in contact with BSH to register his disdain; I ventured to suggest he did so.
Going to strip it down and see what bearings it’s fitted with….bet they are generic off the shelf parts. The seal, as Ken says, is the key to the job, so hopefully I can get one easily enough. The customer has gone on holiday for a week so it’s in the workshop which gives one a breathing space. And a 1 ton winch. 😉
Gonna try to beat BSH at their own mercenary game and save the customer a lot of money as replacing the bearing in the original tub will be about the same job time as fitting a new tub anyway.Steve.

What an utter sod of a job!! Millions of screws holding shed loads of parts each fixed and clipped in six different places……..grrrr!!!
Eventually got the drum out of the tub and the seal size is:- 37.4 62 10 12. The bearings are 6206 and 6205 in an 8KG machine. I’ll use a WF Hotpoint bearing kit (SKF’s) and just source the seal if I can. With those size bearings I suppose it’s really not going to last too long. Shame that BSH would do this especially at the high price tag.
Now the ultimate surprise….made in China!! Logixx series now Chinese – I thought that was the top grade series….oh dear; you just don’t know these days. 😥
Any help on that seal would be appreciated; is it common to anything else? Going to the bearing supplier in town tomorrow anyway but just asking.
Looks like this could be the first of many failures of this type; might think twice about doing this again though…miserable job. 😐

Got a seal and the job is done – runs lovely. Not so bad to put it back together; seemed to be easier than taking it apart…possibly just a familiarity thing. 😉
