ParticipantHello,
I have had an intermittent problem with my washer drier since about April. A lot of the time it works normally. Sometimes, however it will fill with water and drain the water simultaneously and then go to a ‘3 with pre wash and anti crease’ error. This normally happens at the beginning of the cycle but it has also occurred during the cycle after starting off fine. I have had the sensor replaced by a bosch engineer and this has not sorted the problem – just wondered if anyone had any idea what might be wrong.
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks

When this happens, does the machine seem to fill for a prolonged period before it starts draining at the same time?

Happens immediately – the machine starts to fill and drain at the same time and will continue to do this until it goes to an error message – maybe about 10 minutes – hard to be accurate.
By the way this machine is 3 and half years old.

For sensor, I assume you mean the water level control switch? If that has not solved the problem, I would think you’re looking at a computer fault.

ParticipantSensor – NTC is what it is called on the invoice.

NTC is the temperature probe. Possible problem with water level switch then, as this features a flood protection level, which would activate the drain pump.

ParticipantI have now had the valves replaced and the control panel replaced – the only difference now is that it is no longer an intermittant fault – it is happening all the time. Anyone any ideas other than a new machine?

Nobody listens to a word I say…….. Waddles off, muttering darkly.

ParticipantI repeatedly suggested that it might be a flood protection problem – but the Bosch guy said no….

Hi
After looking at all the posts, I would go with P45s suggestion of pressure system.
I am guessing that the pressure unit on the front of the tank is gunged and a blockage is causing the pressure switch not to see the correct levels until the blockage actually shifts (or faulty pr switch), by that time the water level is so high it activates the antiflood part of the pressure switch.
Fault 3 is fill taking longer than 255 secs, which ties in nicely with pressure system fault. 😕Greg

ParticipantJust for your information – it was a broken wire in the end……..thanks for all your help though.

Edele, which wire was broken? I have the exact same problem with my machine.

ParticipantI don’t know – I think he said one at the front – the engineer took a long time to find it though – he had already checked the machine twice for that type of thing, and it was only when they took it to their workshop that they found the problem.
