ParticipantFirst visit customer says it would not spin. I stripped it down had a look at pcb (took of plugs and refitted) put it back together and it went into spin. Got a call back, no spin. I turned it on and it seemed to work but before going into fast spin it stuck on intermitant pump and tumble. I reset it, sprayed some wd in programmer and it worked twice, so I left. I’ve had another call this morning that it’s sticking at beginning of the cycle, clicking and drum not turning. Has anyone had problems with the programmers on these. When it stuck on drain and tumble i could see some movement on prog dial but it was not clicking over.

It sounds like the timer is faulty. I’ve had a few over the years where they only tumble in one direction & when the reverse direction should happen the motor jumps or the spin doesn’t reach full speed & the timer just sticks & doesn’t move on.

Well it did not work. I’ve put a new program unit on it and there is no drum action at all it’s still just clicking away. Spoke to a bosch engineer locally and he said the modules are pretty reliable and thought it may be the motor. He should be able to find me a test motor for tomorrow. I checked the ohms and got 42.8 tacho 3.7 coil 1.6 brushes

Take it you’ve had the brushes out and checked them for length and for sticking?

Well, I ended up taking this to the workshop tested it about 10 times on wash and dry and it worked every time. Took it back to customer about a month ago and all seems well, so I guess it was the program unit after all.
