This is not a question but should help others should they stumble upon this.
This built-in machine flashed up E13.Sequence of events, our stage is se.The machine worked well enough on wash/rinse/spin and was preset to come on tumble dry which it duly did. Half way through my customer decided to stop the machine, turned to any wash programme to get the door to click out to check that the clothes were dry or not, they weren`t so reput it back onto tumble dry, after 5 mins E13 flashed up and no matter what she did it would not restart on that programme OR indeed any other. After 14 hours I turned up and initially the machine worked on rinse and spin just fine. I then tried tumble drying for 30 mins. Stopped machine and turned to start a wash cycle 5 mins later E13 flashes up never to be able to reset and start a new or that programme again. Ok what is going on?
I traced this quick enough to the t/dryer going to earth which back feeds to the pcb, temporarily messes it up to error code E13. As the element cools down the earth leakage diminishes almost back to normal hence the reason why the machine after 14 hours worked. I went away came back with new part 2 days later.
Note the part number for this version is 659231 and the part`s official price is now a whooping £133; typical Bosch sense of humour rip-off pricing! Also note that this element is moded but the instructions come with the new part as to what you have to do and it is easy. What is not easy are two screws 20 or 25 torx size as they are heat/electro seized within the aluminuim heater manifold and they do not want to unscrew so much so that my torx bit snapped – rubbish design, so I managed to replace the element by very carefully bending the rear heater`s tang and using the original springy wire heater supports by a bit of very careful bending. Using the new manifold seal and special heat resistant sealant that came with the new heater together with a new heater plate seal I had the thing reassembled, after rebending the rear tang, the wiring mod done: remove the black wire and re wire as per inst leaflet. Tried machine and it now works no problem.

    Re: Bosch washer dryer

UPDATE You get the same E13 code on a Whirlpool AWZ612 washer dryer. Same t/dryer heater fault although E13 points you to a door lock problem which it could be. Pulling the wires off the heater to try first could save you 60 quid on buying the wrong part.
Looks like these particular Bosch and the Whirlpools are the same machines, probably both a rebadged up Smeg brand. All have very expensive spares costs.
