    Hi all
The model in question is WVD245S3GB/06.
It stops at different points in the wash cycle and it seems to be in the rinse stage.
The water in the machine is getting hot, the machine flows water in and pumps it out, but will stop at say 18 minutes remain on a 50 min wash cycle.
There are no error codes showing, no adverse noises / clicking etc but the machine will then allow the door to be opened.
A separate spin cycle completes uninterrupted , but a separate rinse will also stop when the machine moves to he spin phase. Again it will then allow the door to be opened.
Drain pump is working correctly and the impeller is moving as it should.
Do any of you very learned people have any ideas?
If its the PCB i’ll probably just junk it and get a new machine.
    Many thanks in advance

Re: BOSCH WASHER DRYER STOPS MID CYCLE

    Hi.
Ok so this machine does the wash programme but goofs up on the rinses and the door can be opened when it mucks up. But if set on to spin it`ll work ok.
PCB? You could well be right? This is a long shot idea: best thing to do 1st is get on to Bosch`s parts website, get to page 4 of the exploded parts drawing and find in the picture 0410-air trap hose and 0401-pressure switch and 0420-sump hose. You might have an inverse blockage of yukk in the air trap. Caution, touch the absolute minimum especially the sump hose if you can avoid it so best thing is power off, lid off, gently pull off thin long rubber hose off the pressure switch and blow down this pipe, if as you blow you first feel a little resistance or you go red in the face that`s your kiddy and it`ll be part blocked up / blocked up. What i`d then do is refit the hose to p/swt and retest the machine and see what happens. What is happening: the machine is probablly over filling but not enough to cause a flood-you don`t want one either!-because of the part blockage. When the machine comes to pump out there`s 2 things 1) there`s more h2o that is usual and 2) the blockage is restricting the compressed air so the p/swt will not click out so the machine thinks it has aload of water still inside, as well it might due to more h2o than normal, but even if it has pumped out properly the machine will not spin and so sticks doing nothing in no man`s land. The only thing that blows this theory out of the water is why does the door lock unlock if the power is still on…….good question, don`t know!
Could also be the inlet valve not shutting off BUT with no air trap blockage, and no p/swt problem because simply the valve solenoid plunger is getting stuck-pretty rare fault – but a possibility. The machine overfills, and the p/swt senses this and turns pump on/ turns the machine off????
Best of luck with the suggestions. Let us know the out come if any

Re: BOSCH WASHER DRYER STOPS MID CYCLE

This is very strange as the machine for the last 2 weeks has been working 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} fine without me touching it.
I was going to check the points that 1totalshambles indicated, but it seemed to rectify itself. My logic was if it was a partial / fun blockage then it must have corrected itself and the blockage cleared.
However today it has done the same fault, and stopped mid wash and allowed the door to open.
Does this point more to a sensor intermittantly working or more towards the PCB, or could it be something else.

    Cheers all

Do you use the dryer much?

Hi Yes dryer is used often
Funnily enough the dryer stopped after one minute of drying today on the intensive dry cycle??
    Any ideas

    Thanks

Re: BOSCH WASHER DRYER STOPS MID CYCLE

In that case you’d best test the earth insulation of the dryer element. And the insulation resistance throughout for that matter as any earth leak will create the symptoms you are experiencing. Have you got a Megger?

Re: BOSCH WASHER DRYER STOPS MID CYCLE

Hi I don’t have a Megger only a multi meter.
The machine seems to stop at the same time though during the wash cycle.
I would have thought an earth leak would have been a bit moe random, and stop the machine at random times, is that not the case?

    Thanks

Random enough that one time it works OK and the next it doesn’t. First thing we do in the trade is megger first to eliminate guesswork.
