ParticipantHI,
I have an old model Bosch washer dryer logixx 7/4 wvh28420gb. It has had a few problems and on it’s second door due to the release catch levering a piece of plastic against a metal catch. (Bad design).Recently the machine will no longer operate the motor or drain pub. I can select the drain or spin options on the dial. Hit start. But then the door will lock and the pcb relay clicks but buttons on the left flash very briefly and all screen lights go dead. A second later the program with appear on screen and it will repeat the start process every 10 seconds or so. Each time it will cut out.
I have replaced the carbon brushes as standard procedure everyone there’s a problem.
There is a little voltage reaching the motor upto about 15v before it cuts out each time.
No error messages.
I am tempted to get the pub repaired if it’s definitely the pcb at the bottom of the machine. But this is just my first simpleton guess at the problem.
Does anyone have any experience or know how I can kick off the diagnostics program (dial to 6 with spin and move to 7) does not work for this machine.
Is there a way to test a pcb or any parts before after the circuit?
Thanks

Well were they completey worn out, is the commutator badly grooved in the middle? Have you tested with a meter the motor for resistance set on high ohms just in case the motor o/load has failed? Second thing I would check or replace is the actual plug to the mains lead. Had one bloke with one of Bosch`s finest just about to throw 320 quid at a pcb ( the big one lying flat on the base where the mains lead enters ) on one of these things and it was the damn mains plug messing around and had everyone guessing so lucky him it only cost a quid to fix!
Door handle, well I think every man and his doggy has had one and yes you are right they are a cr*p design as they are on the Siemens version/s too. -
