ParticipantConsidering a new Bosch now the WFF2001 is dodgy after 10 years. Read the article on sealed drums and it scared me so I want to avoid them.
Am considering the Bosch Classix WAE2416S or WAE24363 or the Exxcel WAE24467 or WAE28867 – can anyone tell me if they are sealed drum, made in germany or if any one is better than the others?April 16, 2009 at 11:33 am #283356Martin

None of them have sealed drums and all an excellent choice. The Excell range are mostly made in Germany and the Classix in their factory in Poland IIRC?
Shame about your WFF2001 though as they still are great machine as a rule. Many of my customers have excellent examples of them and regarded good for another 10 years service.
Whichever route you choose you should be just fine! 😀

Thanks, I’ve noticed that the model numbers seem to be changing to end in 4, eg WAE24363 is now WAE 24364 and the WAE2416S is now WAE24164. Is there any significance to this except that the 4 ending models are retailing about £30 dearer?
Wife seems happy with minimal electronic gubbins and sees no need for LED displays so will probably go for the cheapestApril 17, 2009 at 7:23 am #283358don

Hi
It`s that time of year again when like the car industry models change, sometimes tech spec changes or it just may be cosmetic :rolls: Just to help out Yes the WAE24363GB has now gone to WAE24364GB. The WAE2416SUK (silver finish) and the WAE24164GB is the same as the 24364 but without the digital display making it slightly cheaper.
Price increases have been happening across all retail sectors. Most of the products you see in the shops are imported either via the dollar or the euro. Manufacturers have had no choice but to increase prices due to the poor exchange rate. If you are travelling abroad this year to Europe you will not be getting anywhere near the same amount of euros as last year.

I take it from the above posts that a Classixx WAE24164GB is made in Poland but HASN’T got the sealed drum problems then ❓

Yes they are still the same at the moment, spring is just around the corner and like the car industry models can and do change around March / April time.

😀 Nice to hear thanks, just had one delivered yesterday and had been getting worried that I’d got a potential lemon. Should’ve checked on here before jumping in I guess, but seems I have got away with it – and lesson learned for next time
Cheers, Cal
