ParticipantHi all
I have a Bosch washing machine which has developed a fault – it starts the cycle normally, then it seems to stick on the “wash” cycle for about twice as long as it should – it counts down to one minute then sticks at one minute for ages. It does this on all programmes. It will eventually then go onto the spin cycle but I think its repeating the wash cycle – any ideas appreciated!!
Thanks!

Possibly a heat ( or lack of ) fault.

Everything is ‘fixable’ with the right tools, correct parts, proper test equipment, electrical knowledge, and safe working practises. 😉
If the heater is not working the it could be a faulty heater, broken wiring or even a failure of the main pcb.

OK – if I re phrase the question…what is likely to be causing the fault? Heater element / thermostat?

I have this same issue with the same model of machine.
Cleaned and checked filter, which was pretty foul smelling (great thoughts of the cleanliness of clothing) but interestingly had 0 build up of any hairs or fur or such like.
I am wondering if its the drain pump?
The fact on all cycles its stops at 1 minute is a real pest as manually over riding it is a nuisance and we feel that the clothes havent been as ‘clean’ or as ‘dry’ as they should be when coming out.
Interestingly at 6minutes one time it shorted the whole house and had to reset the fuse board. I would therefore assume and guess this may be electronic module related, but from a bit of digging online it seems to be a common issue with this machine so would be good to see what others have had to do to address before jumping to any conclusions.
Guesswork on machines age is 6 years, as it was in the house we moved to which we have been in for just over 3 years. In frequent but not ridiculous use as just me and my partner.

That’s the first and easiest place to start looking. Pumps and drain filters the first thing to cause problems. Access is very user friendly.

I would get the test meter out and check the heater next if I were you! 😀
