I have a Bosch WFF 2000 washing machine. It has developed a loud banging noise on its 1000 rpm spin cycle, (less noisy on lower spin speeds). Ahy ideas?

Main drum bearings shot I expect tuffty?

Is it the least bit noisy if you spin the empty drum by hand? Or if the inner drum shows signs of lateral movement?

thanks very much. There is lateral movement and noise is reduced at a lower spin speed setting. Eg 600 rpm rather than 1000 rpm.

A local fitter took the machine away and said he had fitted new drum bearings, he also replaced the shock absorbers but these have made no difference.

Is it worth getting in Bosch to fix machine or just replace?

Interesting – I’ve never replaced a Bosch shock absorber in 14 years…… First step is to get your fitter back for a re-consultation. If the bearings have been replaced it would point to a problem with the drum support on the rear of the inner drum possibly – your fitter should really have picked up on this.

Thanks for the advice Penguin, we have decided to get in a bosch engineer to sort the problem out as the local fitter has failed.

Have had some knockin noises from some Excells/Maxxs , changing shocks cured it. Mind you, you have to drill the old ones out from the tank 😯
