ParticipantBosch Washing machine problems.
The washing machine had three problems to start with.
1. Two programmes not working
2. Pump making funny noises and not draining
3. Motor not spining.I resolved the pump issue by replacing it, I then cleaned the PCB as it was quite dirty and now the two programmes are working. However the issue with the motor not spining has not been resolved. The drum span while empty and the motor made a low noise clicking. I then tried a small load of washing and the PCB clicked in but the motor does not engage.
I’ve ordered some new bushes as the last time I replaced these were four years ago. If this does not resolve the problem then do anyone know of other reasons. I’m thinking it could be the PCB at fault. I have heard that a foat somewhere in the machine could stop the motor spining. Any advise on this would be appreciated.regards

Sounds like the brushes are worn…especially if it spins without any problems without a load inside

The washer no longer spins even on empty. The PCB clicks to try and engage the motor but noting happens. It’s started to trip the RCD for the kitchen.
I’m still waiting for the brushes but in the mean time could it be something else?

You need to unplug the machine and do not touch it again untill you have the brushes, fit them then plug back in to test, 90{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} chance your machine will work again.

Agree with Dr Drill completely
Maybe worth checking the comdition of the commutator before fitting brushes as well..

Took motor out cleaned the commutator which was filthy. Replaced brushes. Noted that one of the brushes is causing a noise on the commutator. Checked the direction of the brushes, reseaated and all ok. Refitted motor and put machine back together.
Span fine at full speed. Only problem is the noise from one of the brushes still. I’m thinking that this will settle down in time? Any advise on that?
Programmes work and machine spins and works fine on full load.
Just noise from one brush.

Is there any arcing from the one brush that is making the noise, or any electrical burning smell?
If not i would think it will disapear over a few washes..

Ran the washer on reduced spin for three/four times, each time the noise reduced and seems to have settled down.
Wish to thank all those who have helped with this matter. It’s a relive to have the machine back in working order
Cheers everyone.
