Mate of mine has a 18 month old Bosch washing machine and currently I do not have the model number to hand. However he called me today and said the machine would not start. Got to the appliance and found that the Door was closed but the Door Lock Symbol was flashing on the LED display indicating that the door was not lock hence no start. The LED Display was also showing no wash times but a Zero like this -0-
At first I thought the interlock plug had come adrift and the interlock was not connected as I have had this several times, however a inspection of this showed this not to be the case.
As the machine is under warranty still I told my mate to give Bosch a call as the machine looked like it might require parts to repair.I waited with him while he called up Bosch and a really helpful guy in customer service asked what the problem was, once described he suggested that my mate switch on the machine and then hold the Start button in for 5 to 10 seconds, this he did and the next thing is that the machine made a peep sound and the normal wash display came up and the machine works again.
Now according to the guy at Bosch this happens all the time and the problem might occur again and if it does give them a call.
Anyone here come across this before and if so what is the reason for this fault, is it a software glitch or something else, I must admit that I felt half daft at the time but as I have never seen this before I learnt something today and this might help someone else.

Sounds like the child lock activated. I had one that we sold do the same thing, I think the customer had just kept her finger on the start key a little too long.
