Bosch Washing machine rust already?

Hi ppl,

This might sound daft but i noticed on my Washing machine model: WAE24467 some rust around the door lock on the machine itself.

Is this normal? i only had it 2years and 2 months!! can i ring Bosch and tell them? i cnt understand why? 😕
I suspect they will charge and tell me to take out their D&G warrenty so if it gets worser they come and i suspect replace the front of the washing machine??

d&g dont cover corrossion so it would be a waste of money

not many manufacturers do either, in or outside of warranty

wouldnt expect it to be cheap either

but… i gotta ask.. are you positive its rust? have u tried to clean it off?

well its like a bubbling on the paint on the machine surface itself where the door catch is. So is there anything i can do, surely its a fault with the painting/metal as i have other appliances and they have no sign of it?

Without a picture then its hard to judge but if it was me I would look around
in the garage for a bottle of rust eater and some touch up paint.

With the door closed I doubt you will see much?

I doubt the performance of the machine would suffer even long term.

Whats the FD number re age of the machine?

the machine i got in Aug 2008 from a large high street retailer.

The Fd number should be on the rear plate/inside door trim next to/below the
WAE model code it usually begins with 8XXX

This will give the info re manufacturing date etc
