Been called on a bosch washer, model :wae32464gb/01.
customer complaining of a poor spin, all i can see is a out of balance issue. although on the spin cycle the machine states 12 minutes on display, it starts to spin and spins upto 6 minutes left then goes straight to 1 minute, slows down and completes cycle. is this normal? is it because it senses no more water passing through pump so energy saving kicks in and completes?

Arterial gunge blockage in drain hose and a clapped out pump can be a factor. Also if there are motor problems that show high Megger readings less that 50 meg will cause it to shorten the spin cycle.

Some of these Bosch, on spin only, do that. Sometimes doing a rinse & spin will give it the full spin cycle.

The ISE 5-2 from Vestel was exactly the same, set it to spin, display shows 10 minutes but spin never hits top speed and stops after 6 minutes. Will only do full 1600 spin at the end of a Cottons wash or rinse cycle, just as Tim says.
