Bosch washing machine won’t spin?

Afternoon all,

We have an old (8 years I think) Bosch classixx washing machine which has been great but has just refused to spin?

The machine does everything it is meant to, pumps water in and out no bother but does not spin. In fact it doesn’t turn the drum at all on the wash cycle either.

I’ve checked the belt as I initiall thought it may have come off but it’s fine. Then I realised that the motor is not turning under power. The motor and drum are free to move, just not under power.

I’ve taken the motor out and it looks fine. The brushes are pretty much all the way out so I thougt it should work? Before I go and get some brushes is there anything else you can reccomend I look at?

Does the armature look clean. Should be nice and shiny, if not clean that 1st with a comm cleaner but may need to get test meter out and check the motor

Hi Andy, the armature is nice and shiny but I’ll give it a clean first anyway.
With a test meter what would I need to test?
