ParticipantLooking at getting a new washing machine.
Saw this one – BOSCH WAB28060GB Maxx Washing Machine – with £80 trade-in bringing price down to £300.
This seems like a good deal but is the build quality good across the entire bosch range?
Don’t want to buy anything that’s basically a rebadged duff model.
Also considering a Siemens
Would appreciate any advice

My advice would be, first work out what’s suitable for you…

…before you part with the cash.

Well it’ll be replacing a hotpoint that we’ve had for 8 years.
Heavily used – nuclear family 😉Was really wanting to know if this is a good bosch – guy we had out to repair our hotpoint a while back recommended them

Well, they’re a heap better that Hotpoint, so that wasn’t a difficult call to make. 😉
If it’s being heavily used I’d suggest something a bit more robust though.

Yet another instance of a national jumping into bed with manufacturer and coming up with a so called deal.
The WAB28060 is an exclusive to Curry’s by the looks of it. Overpriced at £379 to start with but they then offer a so called P/EX deal bringing the machine down to it’s true value of £300.
You would be better off going for the genuine Bosch Tactical machine here at the same price or even better go for the WAE24166UK which is on offer currently at £338.
An even better choice as the good Doctor says would be the “Siemens.”

That’s what I thought was maybe going on – been looking at the Bosch website and couldn’t find that particular model.
However, just popped into my local Euronics and saw the same WAB28061GB model for sale at £350 with a 4 year warranty. Also the WAE24166UK at £380 with 4 years too.
Worth paying the extra £40? Been reading a Bosch can last up to 12years but not sure if the same applies to this range

As I said before, nice machine, good price and now you can get it guaranteed for 4yrs then go for it. You can pay heaps more for other Bosch or Siemens with even more bells and whistles but in essence they are the same machine and just as reliable. I would be very dissappointed if a Bosch didn’t last for 12 years but then I take extreme care of mine and only do 4 or 5 loads a week. My current Bosch is approaching its 14th birthday though the motor is getting a bit rough I plan to shell out £120 on a new motor and keep it on stand-by just in case. 😉

Think I’ve managed to convince the missus too.
She wasn’t keen on white but I’ve convinced her paying an extra £100+ for another colour was mental
Thanks all!
