I have a bosch wfg 2020 which tends to leave white residue on clothes. I wonder if enough water is being used. I did a test cold fill with the machine empty and the level in the drum did look low. How high should it be?
The water level will be fine I would think, most relatively recent machines will have low levels to acheive (or attempt) to gain an “A” rating for energy consuption etc.
Have a read of these articles for marks on clothes problems:
Your machine being 4 or 5 years old now, likely it could be a build-up of limescale residue getting onto the clothes? Gently peel back the lip of the door gasket adjacent the inner drum, if you spot loads of limescale behind the rubber, that could explain your recent findings 😉
If there is limescale, any ideas how to get rid of it? (I never had this problem with my Ariston machine – which went on for years in the same hard water area without giving me white deposits)

If…? You haven’t looked yet? 😀
(Scrape away all you can see and access, then start adding Calgon to each future wash or better still get your plumber to install a water softener so not only the washing machine but the entire house benefits through softened water!)
