ParticipantGood afternoon all,
Wondering if somebody can give me some advice regarding the above problem.
The washing m/c is fine during most cycles, and most of the time.
However, it has developed an intermittent problem, in that during a full wash cycle it progresses until the final spin/drain cycle.
Upon reaching this stage, it then refuses to spin/drain, before aborting the programme.
When I tested it the m/c was fine.
Thus, I checked the usual possibilities, such as motor, carbon brushes, drain pump, and possible blockages, which are all fine.
The m/c then fails to spin/drain again when next used!
I am wondering if the electronics/pcb are the cause, but I’m not sure how to test these, especially when only intermittently problematic.
I’ve had a look at the search facility on this site, but would apprciate some feedback.
Best wishes,
jontymox

ParticipantHow did the pump impellor feel? Still tight or fairly loose ?
I don’t think i’ve ever had a PCB fault on a WFO that would cause an intermittent fault.
I’d be looking at the pump or , and i know you say you’ve checked for blockages , maybe a button or coin ‘stuck’ in a pipe thats swivelling at times causing a no drain fault. If the pump impellor seems still quite tight and doesn’t make any laboured sounds on its start up , i’d be tempted to strip the drain system completely , including eco-sump , just to make sure its all clear.
The other possibility , and i hope i’m not teaching you to suck eggs , is the Out of Balance system is operating if the custy is washing large items….although this would tend to be just a no spin prob and not a no drain prob.

Thanks NomadPaul,
One will investigate, and report back.
The pump is a non genuine newish item, so will double check for possible blockages etc.
Kind regards,

On two occasions I’ve got a 5 p coin that had got as far as the pump outlet pipe / mouth of the drain hose. So the pump was fine & pumping but no water coming out. It seemed to swivel now and again to add to the symptoms.
Worth considering.

Yep, I’ve had a 1p coin on more than one occasion hide at the entrance to the filter in a similar fashion, though it was probably on older models.
