ParticipantThis machine appears to run through a wash cycle but ehen it gets to 0:01 minutes remaining, it stays there, turning the washing endlessly.
Tests
I have taken the drain hose out and when you drain the water comes out freely.
Checked filter is clean and pump appears to turn ok
Drain, spin rinse programs all work correctly.
Cold wash program runs through and ends correctly.
Any hot water programs seem to get stuck when they reach 0:01, although they seem to go through the fill/wash/rinse/spin cycles ok.Any ideas ?

Hi,
I did look at this. I discounted the motor earth leakage as a cause since many programs do run through ok, including a cold wash. The heater is suspect so I ran through a 90C hot wash this morning, and it seems to be not actually heating up at all. So I might measure that this evening. What are the typical resistance figures for a element ? I’m guessing something like 30-50 ohms ?December 4, 2014 at 2:15 pm #422330lee8

Ohms law. The voltage and wattage will give you resistance, both should be written on the element plate. Its a common symptom when element goes.

I worked out 28ohms. I’ll check tonight when I get home.
ThanksDecember 4, 2014 at 4:02 pm #422332lee8

I hope not as I took a chance and ordered a replacement heater ! 🙁
At least a relay should be easy to replace if it is that, and not too expensive.December 4, 2014 at 8:00 pm #422335lee8

Heater relay on Pcb? On a washer. Simple resistance or voltage check first.

I’m an electronics engineer with access to pcb rework equipment and purchasing of components if needed. But I’ll test it first. I still think the element is more likely as a test should confirm…
Fingers crossed !December 4, 2014 at 10:54 pm #422337Dansta

Rather than over complicate things id check the connections to the element, I’ve found them burnt out on several occasions, if there ok, the element should read around 30ohms, worst case will be the pcb. Unplug before testing!
