ParticipantThe machine appears to spring a leak from what looks like a rubber bung beneath the front drum frame when it gets full when going into the rinse cycle (uses more water than the wash cycle). Is it possible to get a spare part to fix this, or do I need to cement it!
The machine is a Bosch WFB1602GB/22 Ser No FD7712.
TIA,

Im not quite sure what u mean but Im guessing its a plug p/no 036071.
It will require securing with suitable adhesion; debor (not sure of spelling 😉 )etcGreg

If it’s not damaged or perished then you can just simply cement it in with rubber solution or Evo-stik.
Usually they only come off if something has got caught inside the drum 😕 as you will notice the inner drum support spigot arms run very close to that bung 🙄

Thanks Martin, I’ll try the rubber solution first.
What is the bung for?February 5, 2006 at 1:39 pm #163394Penguin45

On earlier versions the probe for the varistat was located there. Later versions have the probe integral with the heater above, so the hole is now redundant.
Bear in mind Martins comment with regards to objects getting caught under the drum…….

Thanks for the help guys.
I’ll leave it on the bricks with the pan underneath until I return next w/e with some rubber solution.
hopefully the it’ll last another 20 years 😀February 19, 2006 at 9:50 am #163396ericp

Aah, that didn’t work 😥
I can see that the leak starts when the water level reaches a certain point.
Looking underneath I can see that there is a fixing band holding the front of the drum assembly into the drum casing (excuse my improper terminology; but I’m an amateur ❗ ), and it looks as though the tightening screw has been fiddled with before , so I have made sure that it is tight; but I still get the leak 😡 Could it be from that join around the drum casing somewhere? If so, how can I get at it and what should I do ❓

Access gained via front panel removal. But I must say leaving a machine on bricks with a drip pan underneath is far from safe practice. 🙄
Considering we are talking water and electricity here my friend :zap:
