I have a Bosch WFB1605 with ineffective speed control. The drum runs at full speed in alternate directions during the wash part of the cycle.

I haven’t yet investigated the problem further.

What should I be looking for to fix the problem?

    Hi
Its either the tacho on the motor or the speed control module itself at fault.
May I suggest an engineer from the link below.

Just to add, you could have earth leakage from a component aswell causing fault.

    Thanks.

I’ll try to check the tacho output when I get chance to get the thing apart; what voltage should I expect at full speed?

How feasible is it to replace the speed module or tacho?

    Hi
We don’t recommend “Live” testing of any appliance. Please unplug appliance and cold test components with a multimeter. If you have any doubts please use the link below for an engineer.

I checked the tacho and I think it’s probably OK; I can get about 3V a.c. when spinning the drum by hand.

Assuming the fault is with the speed control module where can I get one? It’s a COPRECI BYR891-3

    Thanks in advance.
