    Enr WFB4001GB/01

Complaint of not spinning on certain programmes, then not spinning at all.

Switched on and machine ramped up to spin, seemingly perfectly, no excessive arcing from brushes.

Removed motor, checked brushes & comm, brushes are about 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} worn with a very slight sign of arcing on one of them, comm looks fine.

I changed the brushes with Hotpoint 1604462 carbons to be on the safe side.

Does this motor like certain Indesit motors occasionally fail under load with half worn brushes.?

    Jim.

    Hi Jim
If you take the front panel off and check the module (Front right behind panel) for dry joint/s 😉 worth a look.
Also check the motor loom for chaffing, have seen a few on the motor supports.

Also had problems with the wires coming loose within the motor plug.

Thanks Greg, will bear those points in mind. Harness looked fine though.

Hi Guys Had one of these a couple of weeks ago not sure if it was the same model, as Greg says check the PCB, mine had a dry joint, I think it was on the relay. Bit of a begger to see though it was just a hairline crack 😉

I believe this one has the Eaton timer. Is it the same sympton as the intermittent no spin problems that we get on Aristons Indesits and Hoovers with the same timer?

If so then it’s the timer at fault.
