    I’m posting this as I found equivalent problems on other machines, but no-one with a Bosch WFD; I resolved it already, changing carbon brushes thanks to adapting instructions I found on here for other machines. Here’s what I did:

    The washing wasn’t getting washed, I checked and saw the drum wasn’t turning though pumping/draining was working.

    1) unplug the machine then lay it gently on one side; from below you can access the main motor, held in place by two long threw bolts; first unscrew the clamp holding the tube that connects the drum to the filter and release it, then you can access the bolts (I put the bolt with washers and nut laid out in the same way as it was mounted to make sure I put it back the same way).

    the drum belt falls off as you take the motor out.

    2) unplug the cable to the main motor to access the brushes; follow penguin45’s video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UOR9kb-wqiI; it’s just as he says 😉

    and replace the brushes (apologies, I bought mine from a cheapo supplier, they’ll probably need replacing again soon!);

    3) replug the cable to the motor, re-mount the motor with the two big bolts, fiddle the rubber tube back on to the drum outlet making sure the metal ring sits right, then screw it tight.

    4) open the back panel (one star-screw at the back and it slips off), and fiddle the belt over the drum’s drive wheel whilst it is already round the motor’s wheel (grooves). Logically it’s tight, so a little force and fiddle is necessary.

    5) close the back-panel, stand the WM up again and plug it back in, you’re done.

    Thanks for the suggestions elsewhere that I used to make sure I was doing this right. Washes lovely now. 🙂
