Bosch WFD 2060 washing machine – Door seal replacement ?

Hello,

The door seal on my Bosch WFD2060 washing machine has a small chunk missing from it at the bottom so that it leaks. In the first instance i intended to simply turn the seal around 180° so that we can hopefully use the machine whilst awaiting spares.

The outer edge of the seal is secured to the door cut-out using a simple circular wire spring clip. I have undone this and now have the outer edge free, but cannot see how the inner edge of the seal attaches to the drum – any ideas out there.

It fits on the drum with a sprung wire, to access the front panel must first be removed. 😉

Could I suggest that rather than turning the door seal thru 180 you simply buy and fit a new seal?

Thanks for the reply. I had a closer look and found the other spring retainer once i’d removed the front wire/spring retainer. I will buy a new door seal in due course, however turning the seal through 180° did the trick for the moment, cured the leak 99.99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} and allowed us to get the machine going again, which was essential as we had a big pile of washing and the weather was nice and blowy 🙂

BTW, you don’t need to remove the front panel to fit the inner spring you can do everything through the front door opening, although admittedly it is fiddly and i did need to borrow my wifes spare pair of hands to re-fit the spring, on condition that i didn’t swear 🙂

It’s a good deal easier with the panel off though 😉
